Description: |
Seeking a qualified Diesel Mechanic/Tech.
2nd shift 2pm to 11pm M-F every other Saturday 6am to 2pm
This position is responsible for performing routine maintenance and a variety of repairs on division vehicles, crucial to the SAFE operation of the fleet.

Duties: |
Schedule and ensure the required inspections are performed and the quality of these inspections meets the desired standards.
Schedule and insure that all drivers requested repairs are reviewed daily. Ensure that all safety related requested repairs are performed daily and on a timely basis.
Ensure that a minimum percentage of the fleet is out of service and that the Operations and Sales Departments are aware of critical maintenance activities.
Protect the health and welfare of all employees by enforcing safety practices and ensuring that the shop is kept clean and safe at all times.
Provide insight to Safety Manager's accident investigation and injury accidents.
Other duties may be assigned. |
Qualifications: |
2-4 years related mechanic/technician and fleet experience preferably in the waste industry.
Certification in the following is a plus: Diesel/Gasoline Engines, Heating, Airconditioning, Preventive Maintenance Inspection, Electrical, Suspension/Steering and Drive Train.
**ASE Certification a plus.
Excellent written and communication skills.
Good judgement in decision-making and analytical skills.
Understand the importance of a cooperative working relationship with regulatory agencies and the importance of staying in compliance with all federal, state and local environmental regualtions.
Class B CDL a plus.
Must have own tools.
Experience with Mack trucks.
Experience with hydraulic packing systems a plus. |
